Job description Job responsibilities Main duties of the role include, but are not limited to:Provide the professional lead for all areas of Medicine Management at DMRC reporting to Consultant Medicines Management.Develop and manage general and ward pharmacy services to ensure the safe, accurate and timely dispensing of medicines in accordance with Defence medical polices and practice. Actively lead on clinical governance issues and associated risk management to monitor and improve quality of all service delivery. Responsible for reviewing, actioning, and ensuring the timely dissemination (cascade) and completion, of all pharmacy-related medical alerts received via the Defence Primary Healthcare (DPHC) Central Alerting System (CAS), ensuring appropriate implementation and compliance across relevant services.Manage and provide professional supervision to the Pharmacy Technician and supporting staff both in the dispensary and on the wards; this will include the development of appropriate professional training opportunities for both pharmacy and non-pharmacy personnel. Provide subject matter expert (SME) advice on formulation of Medicines Management Policy and take the lead on development and implementation of DMRC medicines-related policy with support from the Military Clinical Director (MCD) and the Medicines Management Committee. They will be fully engaged in the planning and implementation of changes in practices relating to medicines management. Promote evidence-based practice through the use of latest research based guidelines.Lead on governance and assurance for medicines management across DMRC in collaboration with Defence Primary Health Care (DPHC) to ensure that all medicines are managed in accordance with National legislation and Defence policies.
