Job description Job responsibilities Clinical Pharmacist vacancy 37.5hrsThe Clinical Pharmacist experience at Boroughbury Medical Centre differs from most practice experiences. At BMC we recognise the scope and potential of Clinical Pharmacists to be able to see patients for a wide range of health conditions.The face of Primary Care is changing, and we will support and mentor our Clinical Pharmacists through their CPPE Primary Care qualification, independent prescribing and clinical assessment training, to empower you to see patients face-to-face as an autonomous practitioner (under the support and supervision of our knowledgeable and experienced GP team).Our current Clinical Pharmacists have gone on to undertake specialist practitioner qualifications in Diabetes and Asthma, they are requesting their own investigations, interpreting and filing their own results, planning and managing their own caseloads, and training and developing junior members of the department.Individual interests and passions are encouraged to flourish and develop. We have a pathway for career progression, within a friendly, diverse and supportive team.If you are looking for a more practical and hands-on role, we are the surgery for you!We are expanding our Clinical Pharmacist team with roles for AfC Band 6, 7 and Band 8a equivalent roles (Band 8a equivalent for an Advanced Pharmacist Practitioner with previous General Practice experience, independent prescribing and further specialist practitioner qualifications).As detailed above, we are looking to grow and develop our Clinical Pharmacy team, and invite applications from pharmacists at varying points in their careers, whether you are new to Primary Care or an experienced General Practice Clinical Pharmacist.The role will include direct patient contact with assessment and advice on newly presenting conditions and chronic disease management, clinical medication reviews, leadership on medicines optimisation and clinical audit, discharge medication reviews and supporting patients with complex polypharmacy. The Clinical Pharmacist will provide expert clinical medicines advice to both patients and staff within the practice.The successful candidate will ideally be independent prescriber or keen to work towards this qualification. Experience of working in a primary care setting would be advantageous, however full training, development and support will be provided to the successful candidates.
The Clinical Pharmacist needs to have excellent interpersonal/communication skills and be able to work independently as well as part of our team.
