Job description Job responsibilities Beckington Family Practice is seeking an experienced Clinical Pharmacist Independent Prescriber to join our friendly multidisciplinary team for 16 hours per week This is a predominantly patient-facing role, with approximately three-quarters of the role devoted to running pharmacist-led clinics and one-quarter supporting medicines safety and quality improvement.

We are looking for someone who enjoys managing patients independently, building long-term relationships and developing clinical servicesMain responsibilitiesClinical Care - approx 12 hours per weekRun independent pharmacist-led clinicsManage hypertension, lipid disorders and cardiovascular riskProvide medication optimisation and long-term condition management within your competenceIndependently prescribe, review medicines and request/interpret appropriate investigationsProvide lifestyle advice and shared decision-makingRefer patients appropriately to GPs or other healthcare professionalsMaintain accurate clinical recordsDevelop additional clinics aligned with your expertise and practice needsMedicines Safety and Quality Improvement - approx 4 hours per week Review and implement MHRA Drug Safety Alerts Complete medicines safety and CQC prescribing searches Undertake prescribing audits and quality improvement projects Identify patients requiring medication monitoring Support implementation of local and national prescribing guidance

Contribute to medicines governance across the practiceProfessional ResponsibilitiesThe successful applicant will maintain GPhC registration and CPD, work within their professional scope of practice, comply with all relevant practice policies (including confidentiality, safeguarding and information governance), participate in appraisal and mandatory training, and contribute positively to the multidisciplinary teamOther dutiesTo present a professional image of Beckington Family Practice to the patients and wider public
