To lead and coordinate the Leeds GP Confederations medicines management processes relevant to all delivered and developing services. To professionally lead the pharmacy workforce working within Leeds GP Confederation services. To enable improved quality of care, personalised care and patient experience. To ensure appropriate processes and governance is embedded and adequate to keep patients, colleagues and the organisation safe To provide clinical leadership to ensure high quality and cost effective care. Work autonomously yet collaboratively with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders. To analyse and interpret complex information and communicate this information using a variety of methods to patients, carers and other health professionals to promote a safe and high quality service. To provide specialised advice and support in risk management, clinical governance issues and ensure compliance with relevant legislation and regulatory frameworks and other established good practices to manage and minimise risk. To maintain and develop professional competence and expertise, keep up to date with evidence and best practice, and local and national service, legislation and policy developments, agree objectives and a personal development plan and participate in the appraisal process. Escalate concerns and risks, whilst also sharing learning and supporting colleagues to improve service quality, efficiency and safety. Act as the organisational lead for nonmedical prescribing, providing strategic oversight, clinical governance, and expert advice to ensure safe, effective, and compliant prescribing practice across services. Lead the assurance of controlled drugs, including policy development, audit, incident management and regulatory compliance, ensuring safe and effective prescribing and use in line with legislation and national guidance.

Management and Leadership Responsibilities

Line management and leadership of colleagues as required, setting direction, objectives, ensuring all team members have clarity of roles and responsibilities. Dealing with all employee/worker relation issues for direct reports e.g. disciplinary, grievance, sickness, appraisal. Support for the wider team to help support high quality clinical care Liaises with PCNs, GPs, managers and other external stakeholders to support the work of the Leeds GP Confederations services and colleagues.

Planning and Organisational Responsibilities

Produce timely reports and papers, using relevant appropriate IT packages where required. This should be carried out to agreed criteria and plans developed for correcting mitigating circumstances if targets not achieved. To lead and develop pharmacy related quality improvement work. To plan and organise own workload, including project work and support for members of the Confeds team, multidisciplinary team (MDT), PCN, practice team, Local Care Partnerships, patients, carers, etc within their scope of practice. To attend local, regional and national meetings of relevance To deputise for Senior members of the team, as appropriate.

Managing Resources Responsibilities

Ensures the effective and efficient use of resources within their own sphere of responsibility. To work to ensure best value for money within services delivered and being developed.

Safeguarding Children

Under section 11 of the Children Act 2004 all NHS staff must ensure that their functions are discharged with regard to the need to safeguard and promote the welfare of children All staff need to ensure, as part of their work with children and families and with adults who are parents or carers who are experiencing personal problems, that the needs of the children are considered and that where necessary they are assessed and appropriate referrals are made. It is incumbent on all staff to ensure that they undertake safeguarding children training in line with organisational policy and in line with agreed current/latest guidance.

Safeguarding Adults

All staff must comply with mandatory training requirements and ensure that adult safeguarding is embedded as an essential part of their daily practice. Safeguarding is everyones business and staff within the organisation have a particular responsibility to ensure all safeguarding concerns are responded to effectively and efficiently in accordance with the local Safeguarding Adults Board Policy and Procedure.
