This role works as part of a team delivering care to patients both within the Healthcare Centres and on the Wings / House blocks within the prison environment as well as establishing and maintaining relationships with staff at all levels, customers and other key stakeholders. Candidate must to be flexible to cover shifts including weekends as and when needed and step up to provide support to the team..The Pharmacy Team Leader will support in the development of the healthcare service and the healthcare staff.The role will involve integrated working with all areas within the Prison and other services.If you would like more information please contact:Recruitment Advisor: Louise Ledward on 07884 659608 or louise.ledward@hcrgcaregroup.comHiring manager: Jignesh Chavda jignesh.chavda@hcrgcaregroup.comMain ResponsibilitiesOur Pharmacy Team Leader: Lead, supervise and develop the pharmacy team, including appraisals, performance management, training, induction, and probation support. Manage staffing rotas and ensure the team has the skills and competencies required to deliver a safe and effective pharmacy service. Provide clinical leadership, assessing patients, supporting medication administration, maintaining accurate records, and referring patients where appropriate. Monitor team performance, conduct, and documentation to ensure compliance with professional, clinical, and organisational standards. Lead pharmacy meetings and safety huddles, and contribute to multidisciplinary forums such as Medicines Management, Clinical Governance, and Drug Strategy meetings. Support audits, quality improvement initiatives, and service development to enhance patient outcomes and operational performance. Work collaboratively with the Lead Pharmacist, Pharmacy Manager, and wider healthcare teams to ensure safe medicines management across the prison. Provide operational support as required, including wing-based healthcare duties, report writing, and attendance at legal proceedings where necessary. Promote a positive, professional culture, challenging inappropriate behaviours and demonstrating effective leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
