Pharmacy Technician (Accuracy Checking Technician accredited)

Job description Job responsibilities Dispense a wide range of outpatient prescriptions, including specialist medicines such as oral chemotherapy and high-cost therapies. Undertake final accuracy checking of dispensed prescriptions in line with ACPT accreditation and standard operating procedures. Ensure the safe and legal supply of medicines in accordance with GPhC requirements and pharmacy SOPs. Support the efficient day-to-day running of the outpatient dispensary, prioritising workload to meet service demands. Maintain accurate patient medication records and ensure correct allocation of stock to patients and cost centres. Liaise with Pharmacists, Prescribers, and external teams to resolve prescription queries and support patient care. Provide advice to patients on the safe and effective use of medicines, referring to the pharmacist where appropriate. Support the dispensing and supply of medicines for the Homecare service where required. Contribute to the achievement of Pharmacy KPIs through accurate, timely dispensing and effective workload management. Participate in stock control activities including ordering, receipt, expiry checking, and discrepancy reporting. Support incident reporting, investigation, and learning in line with safer care and governance procedures. Work collaboratively within the pharmacy team to maintain a high-quality, patient-focused service. Maintain professional competence, including ongoing CPD and ACPT revalidation requirements.
