Principal Pharmacist - Cardiovascular (Maternity Cover)

Job description Job responsibilities As the Principal Pharmacist for Cardiovascular Services, the post holder will be responsible for providing leadership, and line management when necessary, to the GSTT Cardiovascular Pharmacy team, inclusive of the following areas: Vascular Surgery Cardiology Community hypertension and lipid clinics The post holder will work collaboratively with the Clinical Services Lead Pharmacist and relevant members of the clinical Directorate Management Team to strategically develop pharmacy services in line with national, regional and local priorities. The post holder will act as a role model for the wider pharmacy team and be a pharmacy expert in this field to ensure a consistently high clinical pharmacy service in line with corporate objectives and the NHS long term plan. The role will be responsible for managing all pharmacy aspects of the cardiovascular service, including governance, quality and safety aspects and a close management of the cardiovascular pharmacy budget. The role will work collaborative with members of the wider Pharmacy Seniors Group to contribute to the development of the wider Pharmacy Clinical services agenda and associated workforce and departmental innovations. This is an excellent opportunity for an aspiring leader to take on service development projects, work collaboratively across the MDT, undertake financial planning and management of a pharmacy service, oversee the development of appropriate pharmacy governance pathways for this specialty and undertake and support research in this clinical area.
