Job description Job responsibilities To provide timely and accurate medicines information and specialist advice to healthcare professionals, patients, carers, and families, promoting understanding, adherence, and shared decision-making. To actively contribute to multidisciplinary teams, including attendance at ward rounds, clinics, and case discussions, where pharmacy input is valued and integral to patient care. To support the education, training, and development of pharmacy professionals, trainees, and wider MDT staff across the Trust, contributing to structured teaching and informal learning. To contribute to the physical health and wellbeing agenda for people with mental illness, supporting Trust and national priorities to reduce health inequalities. To participate in clinical audit, quality improvement initiatives, and service development activities to enhance patient care and pharmacy services. To contribute to pharmacy team meetings, governance processes, and the ongoing development of clinical pharmacy services. To support service innovation and improvement, working collaboratively across teams to identify and implement changes to practice. To participate in the pharmacy rota, including Saturdays, Bank Holidays, and on-call duties as required. You will also contribute to the supervision and training of staff, support service improvement initiatives, and take an active role in governance, quality improvement, and audit. This role offers excellent opportunities to further develop your clinical expertise in mental health, alongside leadership, education, and operational management skills. You will be encouraged to contribute to service innovation and workforce development. Previous experience within secondary care is desirable but not essential. Applicants must demonstrate strong organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills, as well as a clear interest in mental health. Leeds and York Partnership NHS Foundation Trust provides a wide range of general and specialist mental health services. These include inpatient services for adults and older people, forensic services, recovery and rehabilitation services, and community and primary care mental health services across Leeds. We also provide forensic and CAMHS services to the population of York, alongside tertiary specialist services such as Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services and the National Inpatient Centre for Psychological Medicine. This breadth of services offers excellent opportunities to gain exposure to and experience across a variety of settings and specialisms within mental health care. Community Mental Health Team (CMHT) transformation is a key priority within the Trust. This includes closer integration with specialist services, primary care, and third sector organisations to deliver more holistic, patient-centred care.
