Masters Degree in pharmacy obtained through undergraduate training. Registered as a pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council and experience in pharmacy practice obtained through one year pre-registration training and examination. Good written and verbal communication skills Good Clinical Knowledge A broad experience of clinical working in a number of specialty areas at a developed level. Must be equally at ease talking to patients, medical and nursing staff of all grades in both primary and secondary care and will need to present written and verbal reports to senior hospital staff. Must have standard keyboard skills and a familiarity with routine office software – word processing, spread sheeting and PowerPoint. Exhibits an enthusiasm for development of the practice of Pharmacy Able to work as an individual and within a team. Responds positively to service deadlines and possess personal organisational attributes. Able to plan and manage own workload. The post holder must display an understanding of and ability to deal with the confidential and sensitive information with which they will come into contact on a daily basis. The post holder will need the necessary skills to be able to communicate complicated medication issues to patients and carers in order that they may understand and make best use of their medicines. The post holder must display an understanding and ability to communicate and deal with all patients and/or carers some of whom may have language, sensory or learning difficulties, or who may be dying or distressed because of their diagnosis or state of health. Must be physically able to visit wards and departments across the Trust as required by the activities of the job. Willing and able to travel throughout the Wakefield District area to cover community services roles.
