Job description Job responsibilities For further information please refer to the Job Description & Person Specification. 2.1 To lead, strategically co-ordinate and evaluate a comprehensive clinical pharmacy service to the Paediatric Unit in accordance with the priorities set by the Clinical Services Manager in order to ensure safe, clinically effective and cost efficient use of medicines in children and adolescents.2.2 To provide comprehensive pharmaceutical care, contributing to the multi-professional team through ward pharmacy services and attendance on appropriate clinicians ward rounds, clinics and meetings2.3 To communicate effectively with all healthcare professionals to ensure the safe, clinically effective and cost efficient use of drugs 2.4 Identify any systematic or preventable errors associated with medicines used within the Paediatric Unit and facilitate learning2.5 To proactively develop clinical pharmacy services in the paediatric setting in line with local and national objectives including National Service Specification and NICE Improving Outcomes Guidance2.6 Facilitate effective communication about relevant pharmacy issues to clinicians and senior managers and the identification of opportunities for the development of pharmacy services to match identified service and care needs
