This is a senior, field-based position within The Pharmacist Network, operating as part of the leadership team. The Lead Pharmacist Business Development is the clinical voice within our commercial activity: identifying service opportunities, building relationships with NHS stakeholders, developing compelling propositions, and supporting the sustainable growth of TPNs partnerships across the UK.
The person in this role will need to understand the mechanics of GP pharmacy from the inside what works, what doesnt, how PCNs and practices make decisions, and where a well-deployed pharmacy team can genuinely shift outcomes. That insight is what makes the difference between a generic pitch and a credible one.
You will work alongside the operations team and report directly into the Directors. Travel across the UK is a regular part of the role.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Relationship Management
Identify and develop new partnership opportunities with GP practices, PCNs, and wider NHS stakeholders
Build and maintain strong working relationships with existing partner sites, acting as a trusted clinical contact
Represent TPN in conversations with commissioners and primary care leads, making the case for pharmacy-led service models
Lead on new site engagement meeting with prospective partners, understanding their needs, and positioning TPNs offer accordingly
Service Development
Work with partner sites to understand unmet clinical and operational needs, and design services that address them
Develop and present business cases for new areas of service delivery
Support the innovation of service models, drawing on NHS policy direction, technology developments, and operational best practice
Feed market intelligence back into the organisation to shape strategic direction
Clinical Leadership & Quality
Act as a clinical resource for the leadership team, providing insight into GP pharmacy workforce trends, NHSE priorities, and primary care policy
Review feedback from partner sites and lead conversations around service improvement
Monitor the NHS landscape for operational and technology innovations that could be incorporated into TPNs offer
Champion the professional standards and value of GP pharmacists and pharmacy technicians within all stakeholder conversations
