What you will bring to the role You will support the identification of training and development needs, maintain accurate competency-based training records, and assist in ensuring training activities are delivered in line with departmental and regulatory requirements. Through mentoring, coaching and regular feedback, you will provide support to all learners including Level 2 and Level 3 apprentices, and Trainee Pharmaceutical Scientists (STPs), helping them progress towards their learning objectives and professional goals. Working closely with colleagues, you will contribute to the development and delivery of training materials, assist with the recruitment and induction of new staff, and help promote a positive learning environment that encourages continuous professional development and high standards of practice. To maintain and develop operational competency, you will provide support to the service when required, contributing to the day-to-day activities of the unit and undertaking accuracy checking of medicines. This will ensure you remain up to date with departmental processes and practices while supporting the wider team during periods of service need. We are looking for an organised and motivated individual with excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail, and a commitment to supporting the development of others. The successful candidate will be able to balance training responsibilities with service priorities and demonstrate a passion for learning, quality and patient care. The post is a full-time post of 37.5 hours per week, to be worked flexibly over a 4-day working week (Monday - Friday) but the post holder must work until 7pm as part of some of the shifts. You will also be expected to participate in a Bank Holiday and Weekend rota.
